HTML5 Signage

HTML5 signage means showing web content, such as web pages, web apps and dashboards, on signage screens. Anything that runs in a browser can become a playlist item, from live KPIs to interactive pages.

Web content is the fastest route to live data on a screen: if a team already has a dashboard, it can be on the wall today.

Things to check

  • Logins. Pages behind a sign-in need a way to stay authenticated on the screen.
  • Layout. Design for the screen’s resolution; a desktop page may be tiny on a TV.
  • Offline. Live web pages need a connection, unlike cached images and video.
