Media Player
A digital signage media player is a small computer connected to a screen, usually over HDMI, that runs the signage player software. It downloads content from the CMS and plays it, turning any display into a managed sign.

A media player is the most flexible way to add signage to a screen: it works with almost any display that has an HDMI input.
Why it matters
- Any screen. Even a TV with no smart platform becomes a sign.
- Easy to swap. If the player fails, replace a small box instead of the whole display.
- One more device. It needs power, mounting and occasional attention, which a built-in System on Chip player avoids.
