- The URL of an RSS feed — a news source, your company blog or an internal announcements feed.
- A paired Loopvew screen with internet access.
A scrolling ticker adds a constant stream of fresh text to a screen — news headlines, industry updates or your own announcements — without taking space from your main content. Loopvew supports news and RSS feeds as a widget.
Step 1 — Choose a feed
Pick a feed that fits the screen’s audience:

Most news sites and blogs publish an RSS feed; look for an RSS link or add /feed to a blog’s address.
Step 2 — Create a layout with a ticker zone
Set up a multi-zone layout with your main content above and a narrow strip along the bottom for the ticker. Keep the strip tall enough for large text — a ticker that nobody can read is just motion. See multi-zone layouts.
Step 3 — Add the RSS widget
In the Loopvew CMS, add the news or RSS widget to the ticker zone and enter the feed URL.
Step 4 — Publish and check readability
Publish and watch the screen from where your audience stands:
- Can you read a full headline before it scrolls off?
- Is the text large and high-contrast enough?
- Does the ticker distract from the main content? If so, calm the main zone.
Tips
- One ticker per screen. Two moving strips compete for attention.
- Keep the main zone calmer when a ticker is running.
- Pair with cached content — the feed needs a connection to update.
- Curate the source. You’re responsible for what appears on your screens; choose feeds you trust.
