Before you start

  • One or more paired Loopvew screens above the counter.
  • Your current menu, prices and item photos.
  • A design tool that exports images at 1920×1080 (or 1080×1920 for portrait).

A digital menu board is a set of screens above your counter showing your menu from Loopvew, so prices and items change from the dashboard instead of the print shop. This tutorial builds a typical three-screen board: two menu screens and one promotion screen.

Step 1 — Plan the screens

Give every screen one job:

Screen Content Motion
Left Mains and combos Static
Centre Promotions and new items Rotating loop
Right Drinks, sides and desserts Static

Keep the menu screens static so guests can read them. Put all the movement on the promotion screen.

Step 2 — Design the menu slides

Design one slide per menu screen at its native resolution — 1920×1080 for landscape, 1080×1920 for portrait.

  • Large prices and names, readable from the back of the queue.
  • Clear groups — combos first, then singles, then add-ons.
  • Photos for high-margin items, placed top-left or centre.
  • Consistent layout across screens so the board reads as one.

Step 3 — Upload to the library

In the Loopvew CMS, open the Library tab, select Upload Media, and drag in your slides and promo videos. Name files clearly — for example menu-mains-2026-09.jpg — so the right version is easy to find.

Step 4 — Build playlists

Create one playlist per screen:

  • Menu screens — a single slide, or a few slides with long durations.
  • Promotion screen — three to six slides or short videos at 8–10 seconds each.

Step 5 — Publish to the screens

Publish each playlist to its screen. Running several locations? Put matching screens into a group — for example “All left menu boards” — and publish once to update every store.

Keep it current

  • Sold out? Swap in a version of the slide without the item and publish.
  • Price change? Update the slide, replace it in the playlist, publish.
  • Different menus through the day? Build a playlist per daypart and schedule them by time of day.

Players cache content, so the board keeps showing the menu through a network outage.
